On Monday, Mom and I went to Deseret Industries and I bought some books while she bought some toys and crafts. Then we went to the new Deseret Book location in Layton and it was pretty big and a lot nicer than the mall location. We ate lunch at Taco Bell.
On Tuesday, I watched the movie, Contagion. It's pretty terrifying and it made me want to stay indoors and live in a soap bubble, away from sick people. Moral of the story is to always wash your hands!
On Wednesday, Mom and I went to Kohl's, because she had a couple of gift certificates. She bought a shamrock and a heart necklace. We went to Seagull Book. I bought a couple of books and Mom bought some Christmas decorations. We got pizza for dinner. Dad had to work very late and didn't get home until almost midnight.
Thursday was Groundhog Day and the groundhog saw his shadow, so six more weeks of winter. Boo! The power went off for an hour in the morning. I was watching a movie and was on my computer when it turned off. Someone must have hit a power pole.
On Friday, Mom and I went to Wal-Mart to get groceries and snacks for the Super Bowl. I finished reading Lucky by Alice Sebold, the autobiography of the author who also wrote The Lovely Bones, recounting her rape at age 18 and the conviction of her rapist. Mom and I watched the movie, Dolphin Tale, which was really cute. Mom went to pick up Shadow and fell into the recliner. Shadow jumped into the kitchen chair to surprise Dad and knocked it over, backwards, which scared the cat to death. Shadow hid under my bed for an hour afterwards.
On Saturday, the Young Women in the Ward came around to collect a box of cereal and a canned good for the homeless. Mom and I went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries we had forgot to get the previous day. Since Dad had to work late, we had an early supper at Chuck a Rama in Ogden and drove past the temple to see what progress they had made with the construction. Dad stopped at Macey's in Clearfield and I walked over to the Frog2Hop home decor store to see what they had.
