On Monday, I cleaned out my closet. I threw away all the old magazines I used to make collages in my art classes with. I took all the cabin crafts I had in my room and my caps and gowns from both graduations and put them into a tub for storage in the basement. I organized all my kind of paints into separate boxes and my canvas and paper into one box. I even made a box for colored pencils and markers. Mom had me wear a copper bracelet on my left wrist all day yesterday and my arm has ached since. I read Midway to Heaven by Dean Hughes on my ipod and it was really good. I now want to see the movie.
On Tuesday, Mom and I watched the movie, Chicago. Mom had never seen it before and thought it was weird. We all went to Iceberg for dinner. Dad changed our Internet provider and had a new company come and install their dish.
On Wednesday, my cat Shadow made me chase him on and off the porch three times before he would go in the house. Mom and I went to Wal-mart. She bought Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc on DVD and some new shoes. We also went to Ben Franklin crafts and got a canvas frame to go around our candle holder. I watched the movie, Limitless.
On Thursday, I went with Mom to McKay-Dee Hospital for her pulmonary appointment for her sleep apnea. Then we went to Praxair next to the Newgate Mall to pick up her finger oxygen monitor. I watched the Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Wrong Man and I finished reading, Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare.
On Friday, Mom woke up at 3 am and her finger test had fallen off, so she called Praxair and they told her to try doing the test again and bring it back on Monday. We went to Old Navy and Barnes & Noble. I got three shirts and Mom got some jeans and a shirt. We went and tried Kneader's Bakery for lunch, since their Layton location just opened. Their food was really good. Mom and I watched Monsters Inc.
On Saturday, Mom woke up again and her finger test had fallen off. Mom and I went to Kohl's because she had some coupons. I took down all the watermelon decorations and I decorated the house with apples, leaves, flowers, and scarecrows for September. We all went to Tony's Pizza for dinner and drove past the Ogden Temple which is all under construction on our way to Farr's ice cream. I boiled eggs and potatoes for a potato salad while Mom and I watched One Fine Day. I also watched the documentary, Imax: Hubble before I went to bed.
On Sunday, I finished making the potato salad and I fixed some crafts that got damaged in the basement. I have a wooden snowman whose gingerbread buttons need gluing back on and a fishing bear who needed to be glued completely back together. Dad went home teaching. We cooked a ham for lunch to go with the potato salad. I finished reading, Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris.

Decorations, Films, and Salt Lake
On Monday, Mom and I went to Tai Pan Trading and they had all their Halloween decorations on display. She bought some purple ramekins, some mini pumpkins, lemons, pears, and corn cobs, to put around her candle holders on the mantle and in her large glass vase. Mom had Dad make a wooden crate to put the little fruit and vegetables in under the candle holders. I read The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. Every Nicholas Sparks book I have read, has a sad ending. This one dealt with a husband deciding whether or not to pull the plug on his comatose wife.
On Tuesday, Mom and I went to Target. We both bought some dvds. Mom bought Just Go With It , since we rented it from Netflix a couple of weeks ago and she loved that movie. When Dad came home, we went to Sam's Club to get a hot dog for dinner and some groceries. I watched a couple of Alfred Hitchcock films from the 1920's and 1930's, that were silent films.
On Wednesday, I watched The Dark Knight on dvd, the first time since I saw the movie in the theatre. It's an incredible movie and makes me miss Heath Ledger. I hope the Dark Knight Rises is just as good. I read The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. It's an autobiography of a writer who grew up with nomadic parents and three siblings. Definitely a must read!
On Thursday, Mom and I went to Kohl's so she could spend the gift cards she got from her birthday. She bought a lot of shirts. She ended up opening a Kohl's charge card so she could save 20%. We went to lunch at Costa Vida. I watched Foreign Correspondent.
On Friday, I read One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. Hopefully the movie version will be good. It sure was pouring and thundering at our house that morning. I had to put my jacket on to get the mail and the garbage can. Mom held Shadow while I was out there, so he could see what was going on.
On Saturday, Mom had me put Just Go With It into the dvd player for her, so she could watch it. I went outside and took pictures of all our flowers that haven't died, while Shadow sat on the porch. We went to Old Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square for dinner. Near the restaurant, they were having a cat and dog adoption fair. One of the cats looked exactly like Shadow, but it was a girl. We drove past the temple on our way back to the highway. The trees sure are getting big on the Conference center. Dad took us to his tax office in Layton to show us his new cherry wood desk and bookshelves. The new set looks really nice! He just needs to get some decorations. On the way home, we got lost, driving around in the Freeport center. When we got home, we watched the movie, Insidious. It was really scary!
On Sunday morning, Shadow scared me by grabbing my toes while I was asleep. In the afternoon, I cleaned out my bookshelves, my bathroom, my closet, and my desk. I threw away a bunch of old school folders and put a couple of boxes full of books and binders into storage. Our home teachers came over to visit. After dinner, I made peanut butter haystacks for dessert.

Candles, Camping, and Commemorations
On Monday, Mom and I went to Old Navy and Smith's. I got some new sunglasses because the lens in my old pair had chipped. I made Banana Oatmeal Cookies. I got my summer semester grades and am officially done with school. I should get my diploma in the mail in three months.
Dad left on Wednesday to go camping up at Spirit Lake with his siblings. Mom and I went to Shopko. I bought some books and some music. I finished reading City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare and I watched the movie, Source Code.
On Thursday, Mom and I went to Wal-mart to buy some cream colored candles for her new mantle candle holder. She also bought some Disney movies on DVD she didn't have. A guy stopped us in the parking lot and asked us about her scooter, like how much did it cost and how great it works, because his dad needs something to get around. Thursday was also the sixth anniversary of my Grandma Sandberg's death, so it was fitting that her children were on a camping trip all together this week to commemorate her passing.
On Friday, Mom and I went to the SLC Candle outlet in Layton. She bought a candle warmer lamp. Since I have asthma, she thought this was a good idea to burn her candles without affecting my breathing. She burned her lavender one which is really strong.
On Saturday, Mom and I went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries. Afterwards, we went to the Syracuse Farmer's Market and got corn, cinnamon bread, and pecan fudge. We also went to Real Deals Home Decor, a store which is only open on Thursdays and Saturdays. Mom bought some signs for the house. One that says, "Family is God's way of making sure we don't walk alone," and another one that says, "I serve three meals: frozen, microwaved, and take out." Dad came home from his camping trip in the afternoon and told us how much he enjoyed his trip. He didn't bring any fish home, just did catch and release. We went to Red Lobster for dinner.
This morning, we went to church. We had hamburgers, corn on the cob, and dutch oven potatoes for dinner. After dinner, Mom had a tremor, which she hasn't had in a long time. Her hip has been bothering her and she has been using a heating pad, so the heat may have triggered it. I made Pumpkin Cobbler with chocolate chips and walnuts for dessert. I watched the movies, The Island and I am Number Four.

Birthdays, Wood Projects, and Exploring Layton
On Tuesday, Mom and I drove past Layton High School. Boy, has it changed! The portables are gone and there is a new wing of the building in its place. There is a new entrance way and a new wing in front of the gym. Sure looks different than when I went there. We also went to Ben Franklin Crafts. I got a frame for my Lion King poster. We went to Iceberg for dinner. Dad made me some antlers out of a wooden bat for my moose I bought at Saver's, that didn't come with any. I glued sticks to the antlers to put into the holes on the moose's head.
On Wednesday, Mom took Shadow to the vet to get his yearly shots. He was pretty much out of it for the rest of the day, barely able to keep his eyes open. I finished restoring the paint on the wooden moose and I sprayed it with glitter. I made pork chops with apples and rice for dinner, off a recipe I found online. It was pretty good.
On Thursday, Mom and I took her scooter from Target to Michael's. I finished reading City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare.
On Friday, Mom and I went to the Antique mall and General Store on Main Street in Layton. We had never gone in either store before and they were cool. They have lots of dishes, chairs, and figurines. I finished reading City of Glass by Cassandra Clare.
On Saturday, I hurt my left wrist, playing with Shadow and put a brace on it to get it to stop hurting. We went to ABC Mandarin in Roy to celebrate the eve of Mom's birthday. Afterwards we went to K-Mart, where mom found a Solar Cat Statue. We watched the movie, Just Go With It.
Mom turned 55 today. I made her a German Chocolate Cake with coconut frosting for her birthday. I gave her Shrek and The Jungle Book beanies and Disney Villains figurines for her birthday. Dad gave her a gift card to Kohl's. We watched the movie, 17 Again.

Harry Potter and Other Things
On Monday, Mom and I went to the Layton Hills Mall. She bought some clothes at JC Penney. The mall is all under construction, with the parking lot torn up and new colors on the building. It looks like it is expanding. They are almost done with the exterior of Dick's Sporting Goods. That night, We watched the fireworks around our house out the window in our front room for the Pioneer Day Celebration. Our neighbor was lighting fireworks like crazy, even more than they did for the 4th of July. I watched the movie Mommie Dearest for the first time. What a horrible mother, if those allegations are true!
On Tuesday, Mom and I went to Rod Works, Old Navy, and Ross. I bought an Elephant Statue for my room at Ross. We went to Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakery to get a cupcake. I got one that was raspberry with lemon frosting and mom got a german chocolate one. We also went and tried Five Guys next to the bakery for lunch. Our fries were burnt. I watched the movie, Amelia.
On Wednesday, I walked around the entire neighborhood for an hour with my ipod. Our neighborhood sure has some pretty wildflowers growing and they are building two hours in the fields behind us.
On Thursday, we waited all day long for a package from Office Depot that didn't arrived. Dad called them when he got home and it said they would call the night before they delivered. I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 on dvd and started rereading the seventh book.
On Friday, Mom and I went to Big Lots. Then we went to Hobby Lobby and they already had all their Halloween and Christmas stuff, which is too early. We went and tried Zeppe's Italian Ice in Layton and it was really good. I got green apple and mom got strawberry coconut. When we got home, we saw a note from Office Depot, saying we missed the delivery. Mom called them and they said they would bring it again on Monday. I finished rereading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
On Saturday, we went to Sam's Club. We ate dinner at Sizzler. I watched the movie, Red Riding Hood.
Today, the package finally got delivered. Mom and I went to Savers. I went and saw Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows Part II. A fantastic ending to a great series of films. Tonight we saw about 6 police cars and a helicopter flying three blocks away from my house in Syracuse. The news said it was a plane crash in a field with one person on board, with just a foot injury.
