Riding in Cars

Dad was off on Monday and Tuesday. We went to Denny's for Breakfast and I got some Pumpkin Pie pancakes. We drove up to our old neighborhood in Layton to see the wind damage in the daylight. Lots of fences and shingles were destroyed. It's always weird going past our old houses, feeling like we should drive up the driveway and park in the garage and go in.

We also drove around Trapper's Loop, watching the skiers on the runs at Snow Basin while Dad was on the phone. When we used to drive up there when I was little, I would get car sick and have to look at the car ceiling instead of out the window. This time, it only bothered me a little.

On the way home, Dad went into Farr's Ice Cream and got some cartons of Peppermint Ice Cream, a tradition for every Christmas, since we couldn't find any in the grocery stores around us.

On Tuesday, Dad took me to the library because it was snowing. We all went to Iceberg for dinner.

On Thursday, Mom and I went to look at the holiday stuff at Shopko. She bought a silver and glitter black jacket to wear on our upcoming cruise.

Mom's been having trouble with her car, so we took it to the shop today. The battery was low, the CD player kept getting errors, and the car wouldn't change gears without getting stuck. We met Dad at the dealership and took him home, so he could take his truck back to work. Afterwards, we went to Wal-Mart and got groceries. I bought the Back to the Future trilogy on DVD.
